Privacy policy of the extension
Privacy policy: A1C Calculator & Blood Sugar Log
Your A1C results and blood sugar readings stay in your browser on your device. The extension has no account and no server that receives them.
Who we are
The A1C Calculator & Blood Sugar Log extension for Chrome is published by Tab & Tap (tabandtap.com). Questions about this policy: support@tabandtap.com.
What the extension stores on your device
- Health entries you type in: lab A1C results, blood glucose readings, their date and time, context (fasting, before or after a meal, bedtime) and your notes.
- Settings: units, target range, theme, language, date and time format, and the name you may enter for the doctor report.
- Reminder settings you turn on, and when a lab reminder last fired.
- Technical data: the install date and simple usage counters (for example how many results you have saved), used to show the rating prompt at most once and to work out the uninstall survey link described below.
All of this is kept in your browser's extension storage (localStorage and chrome.storage.local) on this device. It is not synced to other devices and is not sent to us or to anyone else. Uninstalling the extension deletes it.
What the extension never does
- It does not send your readings, results, notes or name to any server.
- It has no analytics, advertising or tracking code, and loads no remote code.
- It does not read the web pages you visit.
- It does not sell or share data with third parties.
Files you create
The PDF report, the printable log sheet and the CSV, text or JSON exports are created in your browser and saved where you choose. Importing a JSON backup reads the file locally. What you do with these files afterwards (for example emailing a report to your doctor) is up to you.
When you install or uninstall
- On install the extension opens its page on tabandtap.com once. The address includes the extension version and your browser language (utm_source=extension, utm_medium=install, v, lang). The website's own privacy policy covers that visit.
- On uninstall Chrome opens a short optional feedback form (Google Forms). The address includes the extension version, how long it was installed in broad ranges (for example 8–30 days), whether any entries were saved (yes or no) and the browser language. No readings or results are included. Google's privacy policy applies to the form.
Permissions
- sidePanel: shows the calculator in the browser side panel.
- storage: keeps your reminder settings and the install date available to the extension's background worker.
- alarms: schedules the reminders you set.
- notifications (optional): asked for only when you switch on a reminder, and used only to show it.
Medical disclaimer
The extension is for information and personal records. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose or treat any condition.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
