Privacy policy: PSD to PNG

Your Photoshop files are converted on your computer and are never uploaded. The extension has no account and no servers of ours, shows no ads, and collects no data.

Last updated: October 29, 2026

PSD to PNG ("we", "us") is a Chrome extension, published by CWS Tools, that converts Photoshop documents (.psd and .psb) to PNG, JPG or PDF images. It has no account and no servers of ours. We don't show ads, don't sell or share data, and don't track the pages you visit.

What the extension keeps, and where

  • The output format you chose last (PNG, JPG or PDF), so the converter opens with it next time. It is kept in the browser storage of the extension's own pages on this computer only.

That is all the extension keeps. It does not store your files, your converted images or the pages you visit.

What the extension reads, and when

  • The files you drop on the converter (in Chrome's side panel, or in a tab if you open it there) or pick with its file dialog. They are read in memory inside your browser, converted, and offered to you as a normal download. When you close the side panel or the tab, they are gone.
  • A link to a .psd or .psb file, only when you right-click it and choose one of the extension's Convert items.

What leaves your computer

Your files never do. The extension makes one kind of network request: when you right-click a link to a .psd file and choose Convert, it first asks for your permission to access that one website, and then downloads that one file from it, the same way your browser would. Like any website, that site sees your IP address and browser type. Nothing else is sent anywhere. You can remove the site permission at any time in Chrome's extension settings.

Once, right after you install the extension, it opens a welcome page on our website, tabandtap.com, in a normal browser tab. The extension sends nothing with it: the address only says which language the page is in. Like any website, the site sees your IP address and browser type when the page loads. It counts visits with Umami, an analytics service that sets no cookies and does not store IP addresses; it records the page, the referring site, the browser, the operating system, the device type, the screen size, the language, the country and the region, in aggregate. The website's privacy policy: https://tabandtap.com/privacy/

When you remove the extension, Chrome opens a page of the same website with one optional question: "Why have you deleted the app?". Its address carries only the page language, the extension's name and its version. If you answer, the answer is sent to Umami together with the extension's name, its version and the page language, and we read it to improve the extension. Please don't include personal details in it.

What reaches us

Nothing from the extension. It has no analytics, no feedback form and no servers, and it sends nothing to us. The welcome page that opens once after install and the page that opens after you remove it are pages of our website, counted as described above; if you answer the question on the second one, we receive your answer. If you write to us, we receive what you write and your email address, and use them only to answer you.

Permissions

  • contextMenus: to add "Convert PSD to PNG", "to JPG" and "to PDF" to the right-click menu on links to .psd files.
  • sidePanel: to show the converter in Chrome's side panel, next to the page you are on. The side panel shows only the extension's own converter; it does not read the page beside it.
  • Access to a website (optional, never granted at install): requested only when you convert a linked .psd file, and only for that link's site, to download that one file.

What we don't do

No uploads, no ads, no analytics or tracking in the extension, no selling or sharing of data, and no code loaded from elsewhere: everything the extension runs is inside it. We don't use data for anything other than converting your files, and not to determine creditworthiness or for lending. Our use of information follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Children

PSD to PNG is not directed at children under 13, and it collects no personal information from anyone.

Your rights

We hold no data about you. Removing the extension deletes the one setting it keeps. Where data protection laws give you rights over your information, write to us and we'll answer your request.

Changes

When this policy changes, the date above changes with it, and important changes are announced in the extension.
