Privacy policy: Kitchen for iPhone

Kitchen collects no data. It has no account, no analytics, no ads and no tracking, and it sends nothing to us. Your recipes, settings and timers stay on your iPhone.

Kitchen ("we", "us") is an iPhone app by Tab & Tap (tabandtap.com). It converts oven recipes for an air fryer, slow cooker or pressure cooker, guides you through cooking with timers, converts cups to grams and °F to °C, and calculates dough. This policy covers version 1 of the app. It has no account and no servers of ours, and it contains no third-party code: no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDKs.

What Kitchen keeps, and where

  • Your recipes: the sample recipes, the recipes you add or import, and the recipes you save from Chrome, with the web address of their source. They are kept in the app's storage on your iPhone.
  • Your settings and appliances (for example °C or °F, your air fryer's basket size and hottest setting, the haptics switch), your running timers and the step you are on in cook mode, in the app's own storage on your iPhone.
  • This version of Kitchen does not sync. Your data is not uploaded to us or to iCloud. If a later version offers iCloud sync, it will be off until you turn it on, and your recipes will then be kept in your own private iCloud storage, which we cannot read.
  • You can delete a saved recipe at any time (touch and hold it, then Delete). Deleting the app deletes everything it keeps.

What Kitchen loads from the internet

Kitchen sends nothing to us. It connects to the internet only when you import a recipe from a website:

  • Share › Kitchen in Safari: Safari hands the recipe data of the page you are on to Kitchen. Kitchen downloads nothing to read it.
  • Paste a recipe link, or sharing a bare link from another app: Kitchen loads that one page, and the recipe's photo, directly from the website you chose, the way a browser opens it, without keeping cookies. That website receives the request as it would from any browser (for example your IP address), under its own privacy policy. Nothing about it is sent to us.
  • Paste recipe text: the text is read on your iPhone. Nothing is loaded.
  • Recipes sent from our Chrome extensions (Oven to Air Fryer Conversion, Recipe Converter, Sourdough Calculator) travel inside the link itself, after the # sign, and are read on your iPhone. If the link opens in Safari first, Safari loads our page tabandtap.com/r/, but the part after # stays on your iPhone: browsers do not send it to the web server. The website's own privacy page covers that visit.

An imported recipe is saved on your iPhone with a link to its source, for your own cooking. Kitchen does not publish or share it. A recipe's source link opens in Safari when you tap it.

Notifications, alarms and Live Activities

  • Notifications: when you start your first timer, Kitchen asks to send notifications, for reminders such as "Shake the basket" and for the end of a timer. They are scheduled on your iPhone. There is no push server.
  • Alarms (iOS 26 and later): Kitchen also asks once whether the end of a timer may sound as an alarm, so you hear it even when the app is closed or your iPhone is on silent. The alarm is set on your iPhone by iOS.
  • Live Activities: running timers show on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. They are drawn from the timer on your iPhone; you can turn them off in the iPhone's Settings › Kitchen.
  • You can say no to any of these, or change your answer later in Settings › Kitchen. The timers still work inside the app.

Camera and photos

This version of Kitchen does not use the camera or your photo library. The only photos it shows are those of recipes you import, loaded from their websites.

What reaches us

Nothing. Kitchen has no analytics, no feedback form and no servers of ours. If you share crash reports with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may give us anonymous crash reports, which we use only to fix bugs. If you write to us, we receive what you write and your email address, and use them only to answer you.

What we don't do

No account, no ads, no analytics or tracking, no selling or sharing of data, and no tracking across other companies' apps and websites. In App Store terms: Data Not Collected.

Children

Kitchen is not directed at children under 13, and it collects no personal information from anyone.

Your rights

Everything Kitchen keeps is on your iPhone, under your control: delete recipes in the app, or delete the app to remove everything. We hold no data about you. Where data protection laws give you rights over your information, write to us and we'll answer your request.

Changes

When this policy changes, the date above changes with it. If a later version of Kitchen adds a feature that sends data off your iPhone, this policy will describe it before that version is released, and the app will ask you before anything is sent.
